Nice Target at a benchrest shoot yesterday

That's the kind of target I dream about. I looked through the records of score matches shot at my home club since 2010 and there were fifteen 50 - 4X targets shot at 100 meters with both 6ppc and 30br. Not one with 5 -X dots, never mind 4 wipe outs like yours. That is a beautiful target.

I hope people understand that the requirement for accuracy and precision increases as caliber decreases. The X dot is 1/16th of an inch or .0625" diameter.
If it were a 5 shot group all touching the X dot, a .30br would only need a .3705" group. A 6ppc would need a .3055" group. a .223 would need a .2865" group.
If all 5 bulls on your target were super imposed over each other, it would be a very small 5 shot group.

Congratulations on a nice target Rick.

Nice bug holes. Can you post pictures and specs of the gun, thanks.

Sorry I don’t have any pictures as I don’t have this rifle anymore. It was a Bat 3 lug. Barrel would have been a krieger or bartlein back then. Probably 14 twist. Cartridge would have been tight necked 6ppc. 65 grain custom bullet. 10.5 lbs all up weight to fit in LV class. Scope was a leupold 40x.

Our local bench rest league started tonight. I haven’t shot my 30br since last summer but it’s still works 0CE0B8B3-9CAF-438A-B364-6071E0B4D7BF.jpg
This is my first 50 5x I’m pretty pumped about

I don't see your name on that target Shawn ,I dunno , are you sure that isn't one of Doug's targets?
Kidding ,that was nice shooting. I'll add a shameless plug for the .30 cal. 17 twist JC barrel it was shot with also ,if you don't mind.

I love these no bull*** or all bullseye threads. Great shooting Gentlemen. Rick, Nice job man.. but...... I think Manitous brother still has all you guys beat... I only see 6 holes in his paper. Hahaha!

Im still working on this. Last time out for me was at 300 yards on this format BR target. I came no where near 50-5x. something more like 47-1x but one of the guys did. I watch him now. He has an very interesting shooting technique that I really admire.

congrats guys.

Shawn's target was shot over your wind flags Mr. Jeffery ,another shameless plug for a Canadian product.

Thank you DLab. Very grateful for your kind words.I wish I could say more but I do not wish to succumb to a modboot. Im going to attempt the 600 m challenge posted by another fellow See If I can break 1minute with my savage10 FCP. Not really my style of gun but I have to work with what I have. I dont expect to see anything Near Mr. Pollocks result nor the OP's but If I improve from my last shoot. I know I am onto something.
any presents in the mail yet?

Jeez, those are some great targets. While I have never aspired to be a "target shooter", I certainly do appreciate the planning and technique, never mind the equipment that goes with achieving results like those shown.

Thanks for sharing!

Its an extremely satisfying feeling. Especially as you get out farther and farther.... Keeping accuracy at great distance is exponential . The farther out the harder it gets. But its not impossible.

If you think it gets harder farther out then I would guess you have never been to an actual sbr group match , lots of trophy’s , come get some !

Nice targets guys keep up the good work

Yes ,I got the parcel yesterday .The thumb screw upgrade for adjusting and locking the balance position of the main propeller mast and rudder setup is a really nice design tweak ,along with the spirit bubble for level.
Thanks for the parts upgrade Mr. Jeffery.
