Nice way to Spend the Afternoon

Ya, pretty blessed to end up with all this great meat. Going to make a bunch of hamburger, smokies and sausage with the trim and share our bounty with some elderly folks where my parents live. Many of them hunted when younger or had spouses that hunted and they love the wild meat.
Not a big story, just lucked into a herd while out hunting.....got on them at 250 yards but bulls were all surrounded by cows so no shot opportunity. Next opportunity came after a long sneak at over 500 yards when the entire herd moved down onto a hay field. There was no way to get closer so I helped Vanessa get set up on the bipod and we waited for the biggest bull to get clear of the cows. Her shot was a good one, taking the bull in the lungs. She had about 18" of wind drift to compensate for. The bull laid down and we got closer and she put one more in him. We cut him in half, backed the truck up to him and went home and celebrated with a spiced rum....lol Sometimes things just work out.
