Nice win sx1 on EE

His description of near perfect bluing sure doesn’t match his pictures with a large bald spot on top of the receiver that appears to be scratched off along with the other small bald(grey) spots on the right side of the receiver. Nothing mentioned either about the buffer being updated so I would almost bet $ it needs to be changed before the gun can be fired? I don’t see the value in the asking price given the condition.

Agree with Spank on condition comments. The words "very good" and "near perfect" seem out of place with cracked forearm and other issues in photos.
I was tempted for a while as a Sporting Clay back up, but the fixed full and the crack would require additional funding. In reality, I probably have enough back ups as it is !!!
I still think that it could make someone a good sporting clays gun without investing very much money........Total cost would likely be about 1/3 of a new Beretta/Benelli.

The seller moves a lot of firearms and I have bought a fair amount off him over the years and always very fairly priced
The superx1 is still sitting because of the barrel on it mainly plus a field grade but for that price it will be sold regardless . It is worth that as a parts gun to someone that uses a x1
There is still quite a few X1's cycling shells weekly at clubs more than I can say for model 12's :)
Cheers

Are these new Winchester pump actions actually good? Online I read they got plastic parts that aren’t very tough

They will last most shooters and casual hunters a very long time. They are closely engineered on the long produced 1200 1300 2200 etc. etc. Winchester model. As Struff will tell you, you will hear some negative things about some of them but millions were built that gave good service. But this thread is about the fantastic Winchester Super X Model 1....

Seems like yesterday we were all waiting to order one. Some time in 74 I ordered in a new skeet and a trap which I still have to this day as well as the original hand out we dreamed over :)

Really 425 shipped and you guys are winning about buffers . Really . As for his discriptions he couldn't describe condition correctly if his life depended on it . He sells many firearms always a bit of a gamble with his guns . Maybe a akar or a hastan or some such crap would be better $ value I know a mossberg . A lot of junk out there these days

If you’re so sold on it then buy it....but at 40 years old count on buying a complete updating kit from Wrights for about $100 U.S in order to get shooting. And you still haven’t addressed the crack in the forend repair yet? Nobody is disputing the quality of an SX1 in comparison to some of todays junk but just the condition of the firearm for the price. IMO a field grade is worth $500 tops in mint condition. Not scratched up, bluing missing and cracked forends.
