nice wood mossberg 500???

Is there a mossberg 500 that fits into the more classy look of like a 870 wingmaster???


I like the mossy, but the woood looks so cheap, and im not a fan of plastic


anyone have pics of a classy mossberg?

As much as I love my Mossberg 500, what grijim said is true. There is no real wood upgrade like you would fine with remington 870 express to an 870 wingmaster. I have the "durawood" stock on my 500 and although its kinda cheap, it looks decent and I cant complain about it. Perhaps old mossberg 500's may have real wood on them.

Look for an older M500 wooden stock set, they look better.

Boyd's sells a replacement stock if you want to finish it yourself. Not sure about the forearm, though.

I have a Crown Grade 500, it's 13 years old and the wood is very nice in my opinion. I'm not sure if Mossberg still offers this grade or how long they did offer it.

I picked up a cheap old Lakefield/Mossberg 400G at Epps. Same gun as the 500 afaik. It has nice wood, though I didn't like the colour so I sanded it down and restained it. Nice quality wood was obvious once it was sanded. I think the gun is from the 70's.
