Just got about 1k 9mm nickel Winchester once fired brass. Any known problems reloading for my Kel Tec Sub 2k ?? I used to have some issues of case cracking after 3 times on 38 spcl years ago. Any insight will be helpful. Fred
Sometimes the nickel plated brass will last forever, sometimes it will chip/peel. I would reload them as normal and watch for the chipping/peeling. It can scratch your chamber or dies if forced in.
I used to reload nickeled brass for my rifle. Then one of them ruined a perfectly nice FL sizing die. Big huge gouge that now will gouge out any case I put in there.
I now have a bag of about 100 300 WBY nickel brass, collecting dust, never to be used again (unless the zombies come).
I have put about 100 of them through my sub2k and no problems with them. Only thing I would warn you, they drag alot more in the sizing die. Not a problem, just forces you to slow down a bit and it just feels wrong. I save it for my hunting ammo and use normal brass for high volume shooting
Thanks for the replies. I have a carbide die for the resizing, same as the 44 mag, should be good to go. Have to slug the bbl to measure size, might get a mold for casting. Lots of bullets available locally, plated or hard cast.
