Nickel plated pistol brass

The local police force in my father's home town rents the range that he part of the executive commity for; they assume that since they are renting it that they do not have to clean up after themselves. Anywho, my father scooped up 2 big Timmy coffee cans full of brass for me to use.

I was sorting it tonight and found 800-1000 nickel plated 9mm Remington cases. I usually just shoot revolvers during the winter since the brass corrodes quick when it hits the snow, but I thought maybe I could use this stuff instead. I wanted to ask some questions before I sue it though to avvoid any problems. Is it reloadable? If it is, is it hard on the dies? How long will it last?

It's reloadable it wont be hard on your dies you can use them about 3 to 4 times depends how hot your loads are

Treat it like regular brass. How long it lasts will be dependent on a lot of things.

It is reloadable and can be used as many times as a brass 9mm. We get a lot of RCMP brass at our club.

The only time nickle plated cases are a disadvantage is with revolver rounds where you roll crimp the bullets. The plated cases tend to split at the mouth faster than the brass-only cases.

"...they assume that since they are renting it that they..." Cops are like that. Opened a CF range, long ago, after the OPP TRU team had been there. 9mm brass everywhere. Buggers use sealed in primers. Anyway, told the Range Control guy(who I knew). Don't think they got to use the range again.
As mentioned, it's just nickle plated brass. Reloads just fine. How long it lasts depends on the load used, just like any case. Hot loads reduce any case's life. Far more than 3 or 4 times though.
