Nickel Plating A Firearm

Hey thanks guntech for your warning.

The firearm in question is an antique. So maybe they can do it. I'm just worried that might make a mistake like you mentioned and refuse to be held accountable.

Thanks again, maybe there is another company in Canada?

Cheers,
Kevin

My problem with them was I did not want the bore plated as this was a new hunting rifle. I specifically told them... I think they just went ahead and did it anyway, then then chemically removed it damaging the surface, or in the process of plating damaged the bore while plating the exterior. It doesn't really matter how - they ruined a new barreling job. At the time $400 down the drain.

If your antique is not considered a firearm, then an unlicensed person could work on it. Consult an authority other than the internet is my suggestion. If you are doing this to an antique then the value is of no concern, as this process will cancel any antique value it may have.

They also only do electro plating...
