Hard Chrome and Satin Nickel coatings are available, if you go for either I'd suggest stainless steel for the beavertail and thumb safeties, as well as the mag release. The barrel bushing can be replaced with a stainless one too - get one fitted if you're replacing it anyway (they can be bought oversize) it'll improve the accuracy of the pistol. Also remember if you're looking at getting it checkered do it before it's plated. Try Roger Kotanko at Dark International if you're in the East, or Joe Dlask at Dlask Arms if you're in the Best.

Chrome is tougher and more resistant to chemicals than nickel
Tell me about it!
My Desert Eagle is such a pain in the ass to clean cuz it's "NICKEL" but on the other hand my Baby Eagle that's "CHROME" is a breaze. Hope that this info help's you out.

I don't think that Gunnar does plating anymore.

I would definitely choose hard chrome over nickel; it's far more durable.
