Nickle plated Russian parade sks

Fake

Angers me people try to pass these things off a "Parade rifles" Nothing like ruining history with chrome.

Sounds like it passed through the hands of XTrail. That @!#%@#%$@#%$ never met a firearm he didn't coat in chrome.

He does SKS's, Mosins, 1911s, etc. etc. and then tries to flip them on the EE.

Ya..I think I just saw one of his chromed Tokarovs for sale on EE by another Cgn user.

Some young whippersnapper probably bought it, but thought better of it when he got laughed off the range and his membership revoked on general principle.

I have seen loads of chrome sks used for honer gard and such in russia, china and I believe veatnam and korea areas as well. So the idea of one sold here is not out to lunch.

Actually, it is almost totally out to lunch.

Honour guard rifles are treated very differently than normal combat rifles. They are as much a symbol and talisman as they are a weapon. Think of it in terms of "Unit Colours" (flags an pennons). It's actually very uncommon for honour guard rifles to be surplussed, and when they are, they generally have all the honour guard markings and modifications stripped from them, and returned to a normal issue state before being released from inventory.

That holds true for virtually every organized military the world over.

Every now and then, one slips through, but it is a rare occurrence. 99.99% of "honour guard" rifles on the surplus market are fakes. Some are very well made fakes, but fakes nonetheless.

Haters.

Have you guys ever had any chrome plating done professionally? The price isn't too out of whack for a one-off with lots of intricate parts, polished to a shine... That being said, passing a basic chromed SKS as a parade rifle is pretty lame...
