This came with a huge pile of reloading supplies. 170 gr. .322 dia. SILVERTIP. These will work great in my new (to me) 1918 Model 1894 32 W.S. rifle and my whitetail carbine from the mid 50's. One almost hates to shoot them. It's just like kids at Christmas, digging through the boxes of goodies. :)View attachment 182059

Shoot them I have a lot of 375 ,338, 358 and 30cal silver tips shot a wack of moose and deer with them through the years and they never let me down . They are as old as me the sticker price $16.70 marked down to $12.50

Some of the very first bullets I used to handload with back in the day were in the same style box, 30 cal.308 dia. 180 gr. Silvertips for my 30-06. Bought a lot of other calibers and weights as well of the same type. One of my last remaining boxes is 190 gr. Silvertips for the 303 Savage.
Does bring back a few older memories for sure.
That particular box, 8mm designation aside, with the flat point and cannelure placement looks like they were indeed intended for the 32 Win. Special.

I have a box of these sitting in my cabinet in .277, 130 grain. I inherited them- I know they are old but wasn’t sure how old. I can’t find to much info on them and they’re just such a cool looking bullet that I’ve just hung onto them. I dig them out once in and a while and look at them for a second or two lol

I have 3 or 400 of those older Silvertips, almost all in 30 cal 150 and 180 grain.
At 30-06 velocities and down, they are one of the most dependable C&C bullets out there.
I load and shoot the 150's in my 300 Savage [M700 Classic] and in one of my 30-06 rifles
gets the 180's. Every animal shot with them has died quickly. Dave.

Cool old find. I picked up a 1939 '94 in .32 Win special that came with a mix of factory ammo including 170 gr silvertips. IIRC the tip is actually aluminum and they were regarded as very effective.
