Nifty WW2 stuff

I'm getting into collecting stuff from WW2, medals, bayonets, etc. and I want to know if there are any good books that are a must for a would-be collector. I'm interested mostly in German and Polish stuff. Who are the good guys to deal with for stuff like that? I've been to Military and Antique in Richmond Hill, the guy there seems to know what hes talking about, but I don't want to get ripped off with and forgeries or anything. Is there any way to authenticate an autograph? What are the best routes for collecting. I would rather get something from as close to the source as possible. I'm in Ontario, are there any shows around for military stuff? Thanks - DML
P.S. can anyone recomend some reading material on German guns? (markings and such)

lots of fake medals /badges..................there are ways to tell, i aint no expert, but i would suggest going /loking on another site called axis forum, similar lay out to this great site..............fer info / advise.........

Canadian Society of Military Medals and Insignia (CSMMI) annual three-day convention and show, Friday to Sunday 7-9 July 2006 at the Quality Hotel Parkway Convention Centre, 327 Ontario St, St. Catharines, ON. As far as German weapons:

Any of the Collector Grade Publications Books are great info for German weapons. From that series, Backbone of the Wehrmacht is a good resource as well as the respective books about the Stg44, G43 and Volksturm last ditch weapons.
As well, for scoped German rifles, Peter Senich's The German Sniper is a good resource.

If you are into Axis stuff, you may want to check out this site for info and for collectibles in their Exchange forum. Excellent site for WW2 German collectors.
