Anyone have any good affordable optics for predator or pest control & gettin after coyotes? Infrared or something for when its not sunny out and needed? Thanks in advance.. #Bullpups 😸
 
Nightvision for awareness at night, thermal for identification and targeting.

Unfortunately there isnt many "Budget" options. there's a couple NV scopes for around $1200 but if you can swing it there's thermal options for $2500, not huge range but you dont need it at night. The more you spend the better it is. for $4k there is some pretty awesome last gen options, $5-6K gets you the latest, and $10k+ gets you the greatest
 
one leaf NV400 might be what your after? 650 usd

a few dudes testing on youtube now , i will be one of them soon.. but from all reports its pretty decent for general pest control ranges. can upgrade IR torch... has rngefinder, one shot X, all the bells an whistles, alot cheaper than other brands.

affordable means a lot of different things to a lot of different people and getting into actual scopes will be even more expensive, the 1200 dollar scopes mareshow is talking about are gen1 systems and really only allow you to see non visible light, which is practical if you have a powerful IR light, depending on how dark it is it will be basically impossible to use systems like these without a ir light, same thing goes for most of the digital systems people are talking about. right now the most versatile systems IMHO will be thermals, for the price of a good analog night vision scope you can buy decent thermals that will work in any lighting condition. A "budget" option I would recommend would be a Sightmark Wraith Mini Thermal,

its in that $2500 range and is pretty good value. if you are only going for detection it would be cheaper to get a infiray affo($1100)

if you are looking at a digital nv system a good option would be this:

from sight mark, it has a powerful built in illuminator so you would have pretty good detection range even without an external light.
 
Ive got an arken zulus with the lrf. So far i have been very impressed with this optic. Has a couple quirks but nothing you cant learn to work with for the price point. I would say i can see things very clearly out to 400m with it.
