I currently have a 3.5-15x56 NXS with .25 MOA clicks, 10 MOA per revolution turrets and no zero-stop. At the moment it is surplus to my needs. I was looking at the NF website and was considering sending the scope in for upgrades. I see I could choose to go first focal, change the Np-R1 for the MOAR reticle and upgrade to high speed .250 MOA turrets. Has anyone sent their scopes in for any of these upgrades and how long did it take you?

It may not be as cheap as you would think. Going to first focal means a minimum $500 rise in sticker price from what I've seen.

Grouse river states $2000 for a similar scope to my current one already with zero stop which is an upgrade from mine. And the first focal model is $2600. If I do the upgrades to my current scope it would be $700. Assuming its worth is currently $1500 that means I now have saved $400 on a first focal night force by upgrading correct?

People on here can only really guess at the price of such upgrades. You're in Calgary so contact ATRS and Rick will set you on the right path. My guess is you're going to be in line with a brand new FFP zerostop MOAR 3.5-15 after you calculate shipping and any border or handling fees, the upgrades you're eying aren't cheap ;).

Last time I looked at upgrades the turn around time it was 5 - 7 months, and that was prior to the market feeding frenzy that NF is experiencing. Needless to say after pricing it out, looking at wait times, and calculating shipping I sold the scope.

Appreciate the info, the website says $700 for the upgrades I want and I have no plans for the scope so I can wait for the work to be done with no worries. Thinking with it done another range queen in 6.5mm is in my future.

Learned a fair bit when I emailed NF and talked to ATRS today. I was misreading the factory repair form and twy explained that many people get confused ino thinking a 2nd focal can be upgraded to first focal. Anyhow long story short, if I return the scope to ATRS they will export and import to NF and have the high speed turrets and zero stop installed for about $600 and a 7 week estimated wait. That changes things a bit, kind of embarrassed, should have stopped and thought that converting to first focal isn't overly feasible.

Not sure what I'll do now.

If you do plan to send it back for upgrades. Make sure that you send it back through an authorized dealer. I had sent one back a couple years ago to get zero-stops put on. Talked to the guys at nightforce, told them I was from Canada and asked if any special things I had to do to send it back. They replied to just send it down and they will fix it. Did that, and ended up having the optic stopped at the border. ATRS ended up helping me on the matter but it was a painful experiance.
