Nightforce SHV 4x14- which reticle to choose?

I have chosen this scope to mount on a Tikka Varmint in 300 wm. This rifle will be for larger North American big game (moose, elk, black bear). In addition, I plan to do some intermediate to longer range target, simply for fun and to be proficient. I have held the NF with the MOAR reticle illuminated and thought that this reticle may be too busy for a hunting application. But, with the illumination feature turned on it would allow for quicker target acquisition (for a hunting use) as well as having the benefit of the MOA elevation and windage markings for longer ranges. Any thoughts? The IHR reticle seems very straightforward and an excellent hunting choice for intermediate ranges but without any windage or elevation bars, it falls short for any target or longer range hunting use.

I dont have much experience in long range shooting or using a scope with the features the NF has.

I appreciate any advice.

Thanks

MOAR for sure.

A "busy" reticle has never bothered me. But I would not consider the MOAR "busy" at all, its about perfect.

For any long range shooting you will want to be able to accurately hold off for wind.

How are guys using this MOAR reticle when a gun is to be used for both hunting and longer range target shooting? For hunting when time to shoot may be short the cartridge load could be adjusted so that 100 yard increments correspond with with the horizontal lines on the reticle. This load, however, may not be ideal for longer range target shooting where group size dictates cartridge load. Here one would need to develop a correlation table of distance to various horizontal lines. These could be odd numbers that could be too time consuming for hunting situations.

The solution for this could be to develop separate loads for hunting and for long range target shooting. Is this the general practice?
