I was thinking on doing the same but for time and money it takes to do I decided to go with this one.You can get them here and not as pricey.Dont get me wrong that Night hawk is one fine pistol but the STI is just as nice.

Do you have it yet? I really would like to hear if they are reliable with different types of ammo.
The Colt 9mm Commander I had was beautiful but only liked roundnose bullets.

I dont have it yet.Should be here in a couple of weeks.I have the Trojan right now and it seems to work fine with Winchester Winclean.

I just got my STI ranger II in 9mm with the heinie straight 8 night sights as a factory option. Costs was about the same as a non night sight S&W scandium commander.

The thin grips are great and the bull barrel gives it a bit of heft up front. I suspect this gun will be very impressive in rapid fire due to all the weight in the barrel.

Also Phoenix Range and Freedom Ventures provide ready and easy maintenance and warranty for the STI without having to cross the border...lots of people buy guns but forget about maintenance, having a repair depot in the Country helps a lot.
