Nighthawk Talon Bobtail?

You really can't go wrong with a Nighthawk, if you don't mind spending the money.
But if it was me, I'd buy the Dan Wesson Classic Bobtail Commander in 10mm that is sitting in the same display case and order a .40 barrel, bushing and spring and have an awesome 1911 in two calibers and still have $1500 left over for ammo or reloading gear.
Dan Wesson 1911's are actually pretty close to the "custom" 1911's in build quality and are probably the best value out there in a quality 1911. But, of course, that's just my 2 cents worth.... Have fun with whatever pistol you do decide to get!

I thought about it but didn't get many replies on my question about converting the Dan Wesson and wasn't sure if it was a simple conversion or not due to case length and feeding? I hear some .40 1911's can be fussy due to OAL.
And as for switching from .40 to .45.........my stockpile of .40 is pretty high, and I have 4 pistols in .40, accessories, etc for those.....it would be tough to do...haha.

I love it!!! I'm hoping to get to the range tomorrow after work and put some ammo through it. If you ever get a Dan Wesson Valor in stock, I'd be more than happy to take it off your hands! That is, unless you sell it to someone else first...

So it's bene awhile, finally broke down and picked it up. Pics up after I actually take delivery, but I have a short range report post-Visa-Swipe.
Talon 2 commander length, bobtail in .40S&W.....stock wood grips, ambi safety, tight tight tolerances....very nice out of the box.
It runs perfect on factory reload ammo from WOlf or CMB...at least of the 100 rounds I ran through today. Using any of the 5 .40 MecGar mags it ran flawlessly (so far of course)
A little bit snappy of course due to the length, but very manageable, and comfortable to shoot. it fits my hand really nicely. The SVI sight-tracker I had previously I had issues leaving a thumb on the safety while 'catching' the grip safety, the Nighthawk just fits so well in my hand everything is disengaged when it should be...no pull-pull trigger when the grip safety isn't pushed down enough...lol Picked up a BladeTech IWB holster as well, came across it so why not....gonna get a nicer leather one asap once I find what I like.
So more once I get it out again and bring it home for a photo op....but for now thats what I got.
