Nighttime 10/22??

If you have some background light. IE moon, or even a small light source such as a back door light far away, a good scope will still work. I bought a Falcon Menace 1.5-5x 30mm SIR. It's not mounted on anything so I've been testing it out in my backyard (live in residential neighbourhood). The low light ability is very good. 94 percent light transmission puts it's low light ability very close to the top grade stuff. With the illuminated reticle it would work fairly well for low light/night pest control. The best part is it's under $300.
I wouldn't hesitate to mount this on a .22 semi for that type of work. Especially for the price. Even better though due to the Adjustable objective would be 4-18x 56mm. Here'a thread about it.

Scope would just not work unfortunately. As it could be pitch black one night, and a full moon the next. Anyways I rather not mount a scope on my 10/22 cause I'll still be using it as a plinker during the day, constantly mounting and dismounting a scope would annoy me. I'm thinking a half decent red dot sight and a flashlight mount should do the trick. If i can find a way to mount the flashlight.
That was my last setup (just sold the evo stock yesterday).
Anyway, mounting and dismounting a scope is no big deal when you use quick detach rings, such as these ARMS #22.
So for nightime, this rig as illuminated reticule scope + Streamlight Scorpion flashlight in CAA quick detach mount and YHM offset mount.
IIRC, in Quebec, we're allowed to hunt raccoons at night.
And, if you are in NZ, a silencer?
haha yeah, the fully suppressed 10/22's are pretty nice, even full power rounds are pretty quiet with one of those rifles ( thats an overbarrell suppressor that goes all the way back to the action )
im looking at a new pair of NVG binoc style for a lil depth perception to use with my suppressed M14 so when we're out in the bush could go for a quick stalk for pigs or any deer wandering round the camp

Now after looking at that set up, i feel goofy, running around my property with a LED headlamp (picks up the green eyes) looking for a skunk causing problems. I also replaced the lamp in my Maglight, with an LED bulb. All i see is pile of green eyes in the woods.
Shhhh they better not be! I don't think my dog can handle any more skunk perfume lol
A fox came out like 1 or 2 hours later, dumb thing you'd think the gun shots would scare him away. Shot at him a couple times with the 10/22 but I must of missed him. Damn thing keeps trying to get into my chicken barn.

I am still thinking about that NV goggles and IR laser. Any particular brand or where do I go window-shopping? I checked ebay and didn't see to many inexpensive NV goggles and the ones thaat are cheap kinda didn't quite convince me. Any suggestions? Links?
Just a quick sort of off topic question here. If you take out a skunk with a head shot, will it spray anyways. I had one bothering my trailer and it just would not leave so I thought maybe a .22 to the head but I sure as s**t don't want it spraying the trailer before it bites the dust.
no NV is going to be cheap, cheap when talking about NV is relative
ATN gen 1 stuff its probably the cheapest of a reasonable quality .. if you're just controlling pests around the property at night then u should be all good.. you may need to tacticool your gun out with 2 rails.. 1 for an IR illuminator, give you a bit of extra range and better definition, and the 2nd for an IR lazer
