Nightvision

i was looking at the headmounted units awhile ago. pretty cool, it would definitely be useful for walking to your stand in the wee hours before sunrise. but cost kept me from buying it...

on the super cheap-walmart has a headmounted kids NV toy. has anyone picked this up? it was on sale for $60..i thought to maybe get that to see if it would work OK for walking to stand

Several years ago I found a company called NAIT (North American Integreated Technologies). They were trying to get into the military/law enforcement market and they had a Gen 2 monocular with no illuminator and no magnification. They are really small (about twice the size of a shot glass) and gives really good view. I keep these in a little survival pack in my hunting gear. We boat hunt and we have gotten a moose and not got back into the boat until long after dark. Since they are no magnification it is good for boat navigation so we don't hit a rock island. I have only had to use them once but it was comforting to see where I was going and not soley relying on GPS. Those that have been there no what northern ontario lakes can be like at night. I picked this thing up for about $300 US but the company went out of business as far as I can tell. I can't find them on-line anymore. There is a big difference from Canadian Tire and Walmart brands and this one. No pun intended.... like night and day.

I had a Gen 1 unit that I got from the states. It was easy and the vendor did whatever paperwork was necessary. Some of the digital Gen 1 ones have better picture quality than other conventional Gen 1's for the same price.

I have Gen III scope with zoom controls and few other things the scope was bought in Germany and brought to canada the customs didnt know what exactly it was because of the zoom I also took out the battery pack so they thought it was some sort of camera attachment
The dumb ass morons but hey if you are willing to burn 15 grand what the heck right
I wouldnt recommend to take it hunting either specially that it has a digital range compensator built into it
Scope is designed for 50 cal rifle though
Scope also has a compensator for clarity specially the focus for different ranges
What is the trade mark?
