What's the story on the Nikko rifles?

The stocks have the high gloss Weatherby look to them, the bluing is well done, the bolt is crazy smooth, nice weight to the gun.

How are the triggers?

Are they a quality product under rated? or do they perform very poorly?

I had hoped the Nikko Golden Eagle would be to the Weatherby, what the Charles Daly Miruko O/U is to the Browing Citori.

But it looks like I am out of line on this one. Completely out to lunch?

The same company that built the Nikko rifles also built the original Winchester 101 O/U, Model 96 Xpert O/U & Model 23 SxS shotguns as well as the Winchester Model 777 rifles (Nikko Golden Eagle twin).

Kodensha Co., Ltd built nothing but quality firearms regardless of what name they stamped on them.

The Nikko Model 7000 was greatly inspired by the Schultz & Larsen Mod. 68 and was also marketed as Winchester 777 (Europe). Kodensha had two different Nikko manufacturing plants, Nikko Firearms Co. Ltd and Nikko Arms Co. Ltd, one was a joint-venture deal with Olin, the other one was producing the same firearms for others :)

Not to say the deal was done at the disadvantage of Olin...

They are very good quality firearms, made with Magnum in mind, but there was a lot of questioning about the thiny barrels they used. They obviously were not made for repeated shooting but the little I tried were pretty accurate if the barrel was overheated.
