Anybody have any personal experience with this brand.....sems like a good scope for the $$$$'s but how do they hold up...I realize ya get that ya pay for....curious is all....thanks

For the money they are exc.
I had a 3x9x40 on a 30-06, sold the rifle/scope to a guy I know & he still uses it , after 12 years.
I also put the 3x9x50 on my dads 300 Win Mag, been 10 years no problems.
Only thing is the price hike in recent years. The 3x9x50 has more than doubled in price since I bought one.

Just bought a Bushnel 3200, 3x9x50 for my son, it's nice & clear, but I like a wide angle scope myself so am sticking to my 21 year old Tasco World Class.

They are one big PILE!!
I have sseen these scopes crap out in les than ten rounds.
That being said , I hhave seen a few that hold zerro, but for the most part if you compare tham to thee number of Bushnells out there that crap out, there is really no rsce, the Bushnell is a far better scope.
The power rings tend to be really stiff on them also....

I've got two Nikko Stirlings, both 3X-9X-40mm. One has been on a .308 Remington 700 since 1992. I used it to harvest 6 moose & a caribou, while my brother used it to take another 5 moose and a caribou. I bought it while an undergrad in university and it was basically all I could afford at the time. I haven't seen any reason to upgrade it. Holds zero, its repeatable and I used it to make a laser range finder verified 400 yard shot on a bull moose a couple of years back.

The second Nikko is mounted on another Remintong 700 BDL. This one is chambered in 7mm Rem Mag. Has been holding up very well. No problems to report as yet and no complaints.

I recently picked up another, just to keep around as a spare optic should the need arise.

Basically, they're a good quality optic that's available for a reasonable price. Mine certainly compare quite well to any of the Bushnell Elite 3200 Line and are much better than the lower quality Legend, Banner and Trophy lines IMHO. I understand that they are quite well thought of in Australia and many hunters use them there.

Do they compare to a Leupold VX-3 in terms of light transmission, clarity and sharpness...of course not! However, they're a good, tough, reliable scope at a decent price that can get you hunting without having to drop a $1000.00 bucks for a new Leupold! For the budget conscious out there, the Nikko Stirling product is certainly worth a look.

I've owned 3 I had a variable 4-12 that worked excellently for 3 yrs on a win 30-06 until I sold that rifle. I tried 2 different ones on a Ruger 10/22 both had to be returned, one would not hold a zero and the next one had a failure with the elevation, so switched to a Bushnell on that rifle wich is still going strong. It has been 8 yrs since I have used a Niko so if they havent improved my choice would be go Bushnell.

Just an opinion

I had a 10x fixed on a .22 mag I thought it was pretty good Bob. For the $$$ I don't think you can go wrong. I've only had the one but it worked well for me.

Dave.

nikko scope

I had a Nikko Gold Crown on a single shot 45-70 and tried to thump the crap out of it. The scope held up even after I sold it but that may be luck or maybe that one was just well made.
