A friend of mine said he used some Nikko Sterling scopes (I thinks its the correct spelling). He said they were of high quality but I am not familiar with the name.
I am looking or information on them, as he wants to trade some to me.
Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks
Al

I used one the 10x42 SS model...made in japan, it tracked well, and the focus was nice...i believe these scopes where made all over asia...the made in japan models being superior...

These were imported by Districorp in years past.
Varying quality, from el cheapo promotional grade to not bad for the price.

I have a Nikko on my gopher gun.

Pretty sure I paid under a $100 for it (mid '90's time frame) and it served well enough.

It does not stay in focus at high magnifications (18x) but it was worth what I paid, which was not very much.

When I finally get around to some good glass on the gopher gun, it'll go on the shelf for use on a .22.

Unless you are getting a great price, and are looking for a cheap beater grade scope, buying a similar quality new scope is going to get you a better scope.

That's my two bits worth on them. I own one, I use one, I would only buy another if it was really really cheap.

Cheers

I have one, a "Diamond" 30MM 3-9x44
Paid to much for it years ago...
Its a bit big and heavy but it has worked fine, no problems.
Would I buy another-no.

I guess I'll be the odd man out on this topic. I have one a Nikko Sterling Nighteater 3X10 42mm with the side adjust focus that I bought from the NRA online store in 2005?. It was recommended by them as a good buy in scopes. I only paid $150 for it. I have had it mounted on a Mossberg 144LS for a few years now. It is the best scope I have on my .22s. It is clearer than my other low priced Tascos and Bushnells. About the same as my Tasco Euroclass 3X10 I bought long ago at clearance price. Mine holds its clarity at all ranges I've shot at from 10m to 200m. The adjustable paralax has worked for the close range .22lr work and been spot on for focus. I've compared it to others in the same price range and it is better than the Bushnell, Tasco, Barska. I'm sure there are better scopes but the only comparable one I have not shot much with is the Mueller. I'd love to try it side by side with the Nikon brand but most of those are more $$$$.
