I'm looking into putting a Nikon coyote special on my Remington 700 sps .223
I would like some feedback on this scope, the price on this scope fits my price range. Any comments on this scope would be appreciated.
The scope in question is a 4.5-14X40MM Nikon coyote special.

Thanks and cheers from BB king. :)

I have this same scope but it's called a Buckmaster (or at least I think it's the same) I really like it, I've never used it hunting but have used it allot at the range, nice and clear no problem seeing a bullet hole in a paper target at 200 yards.

Another thing is the Nikon warranty, absolutely unbeatable, I had a problem with the side focus on mine but couldn't find my receipt, so I called Nikon Ca and was told to send it in to see what they could do, anyway about maybe a week and a half after I sent it I got a call from a lady at Nikon asking for my address, also informing me that they weren't going to fix my scope but replace it with a new one, I gave her my address and the next day a delivery man shows up at my house with my scope, they actually air mailed it to me and all this without a receipt. Hope this helps, Pat

I have looked at the coyote special while shopping for a 223 scope. I believe it is closer to being a prostaff 2 with ao than a buckmasters model. Thats just my 2 cents... and I thought it was a very nice scope.

Its the same as the Buckmaster but tune up for .223 and 22/250

Don't the buckmasters retail for about the same price as a coyote special? Typically the AO adds cost. To my eye the new prostaff 2 and coyote special were similar in quality while the buckmaster is a step up.

What do you think of the reticle on the coyote special? I think it would be good for some quick target acquisition.
