nikon monarch power change ring

Checked a new 2-8 Monarch out today after work. Great glass, good eye relief and lots of flexibility for eye positioning. My only issue at this point is the power change ring...it feels cheap and flimsy. It moves around when you wiggle it or turn it, feels like it wouldn't take much to break it off- especially in cold weather.

Any comments from new Monarch owners?

i have a 2.5 to 10 and it is/feel solid and tight.

brand new, about 20 round of .308 shot with

I have a buckmaster and the power ring is tight and solid. Not flimsy at all. Perhaps it was defective?

I have 5 buckmasters, all variables, the adjustment ring is tight and solid on all of them, as mentioned maybe it is defective.

it's only on the monarchs. Seems to be the design, checked a handful of monarchs out at an Edmonton dealer (new scopes) and all the ones I looked at had the same wide plastic power change ring. Feels like plastic, possibly light gauge aluminum and has a fair bit of 'wiggle' to it.

Oh well, bought a Sightron and a VXII instead.
