looking to buy my first scope,,what do you guys think? they go for about $189 at Cabelas. Ill be using it on either a 10/22 and or a tikka .223.

I had a Prostaff 3x9, not a bad scope for the price. Quite clear and seemed pretty rugged (held up on my 300 RUM until I was able to upgrade). Never tried the BDC reticle though.

Cabelas has not brought in the Prostaff w/bdc. $189 get you the standard NP reticle. These scopes are very dependable and I know a number of people that mounted them on magnums and are happy with them. They will work on your .22 quite well but if you want BDC style reticle check with P&d enterprises in the header they are getting the Redfield scopes with a compensating reticle for around $250. I looked at the redfields this past weekend when they came into town and the optics are very bright and clear, construction sem very good and with a lifetime warranty they should be very reliable.
