Nikon Prostaff 4x12x40

Thinking about getting a Nikon Prostaff 4x12x40 for my 22-250
Looking at the Nikoplex as opposed to the BDC rececticle
Will this scope stand up to the 22-250 recoil or are the Prostaff more for low recoil as in a 22 cal .
Will be used mainly for varmints and coyote
Also looking at a Vortex Diamondhead

i have a nikon pro staff 3-9x40 on a 20ga slug gun at the moment and also had a pro staff 2-7x30 team realtree on a 12ga slug gun that i sold a few years back and have never had an issue with them.
