Nikon Prostaff Scope on a .300 Win Mag?

I have a remington 700 chambered in .300 Win Mag and I'm looking for a scope that won't break the bank. I've been considering the Nikon Prostaff 3-9x 40mm scope, but Im not sure if it will handle the recoil of the .300 Win Mag. Does anyone have any experience with these scopes? Are they any good and can they hold zero with larger calibers? Any other recommendations on what optic I should use?

Had one on a 7wsm for years, my brother still has one on his 7mag no issues, good optics for the price. Pretty sure all Nikon scopes are rated to handle magnum calibers, im sure others will chime in soon.

i have a pro staff II 3-9x50 on a savage 110 in .338 win mag. i've had a few pro staff mounted on 12 gauge slug guns in the past as well with no issues.
