nikon rangefinders??? any good?

i was in a store the other day and they had the nikon 1200 rangefinders for about $350.. the nikon website says they should be nearer $600..

has anyone got one and used it in the real world? in the store it seemed on par with the leica. and the leicas have gone up in price a lot recently to over $750..

plus i like the ability to do yrds and metres. the leica is one or the other..


whats the max range anyone has got one to read?

I own a Nikon 800 and it is a great unit and is priced for the working class guy.

Nikon range finder are a very good product, 2nd only to Leica in my opinion. FS

Excellent optics, very reasonal price, and nice package (size and weight wise)...pretty hard to go wrong. Let me put it this way...if you don't want to buy them, PM me who's got it for sale for that much
