So my kid tells me he can’t hit anything after some gopher hunting. I start in on him about patience and squeezing the trigger and he’s adamant that he was. So I take the 10/22 out back (on the farm) line up a target and squeeze the trigger. Then a few more times. I was hitting the square target but all over the place and I swear my eyes are seeing something but can’t put a name to it. Then I put more rounds through it and the reticle is bouncing around. Never seen that before. I guess the glass is turning back and forth inside. So strange to watch. My question is if this is repairable or if it’s even worth it? If it’s not worth it we’ll take the scope apart just to check it out.

Nikon stopped making scopes a few years ago. Check who does Nikon warranty work. At one time the owner was swapping one of theirs for the Nikons still under warranty

You can contact Nikon, and they should honor the warranty. But like Cat45 mentioned they don't make scopes anymore. You will either get to choose a similarly valued item that is currently in production or a voucher towards a Nikon product.

Maybe call Trace Scope Repair and see if they will repair your scope.
That is iff'in it's worth the shipping and cost of repair vs a Nikon gift card.

I had a Nikon scope that crapped out, contacted Nikon and they offered me a voucher that could be applied to one of their products as they did not deal with scopes any longer. I thanked them and told them that I did not need anything other than a scope. After some back and forth they eventually sent me a cheque.
