Nikon scopes

Are they any good? What would they compare to? I kind of like the idea of a side paralax adjustment like the Buckmasters scope has.

The new gen buckmasters are excellent scopes. Optics and low light are superb. A bit heavy for their size but come with very nice low profile turrents that can be used as target turrents (repeatable scopes).

I got one of the first, if not the first, SF 4X14 mil dots scopes in Canada and was stunned at how good the optics were. Worked smooth like a much more expensive scope.

Field of view is a bit small and you get the sensation of looking down a tube. Otherwise, a superb value in a variable scope.

If just looking for a light hunting scope, the new Elite 4200 3X9 should be a winner too and US pricing is very competitive.

Ive got a Monarch and a couple Prostaffs no complantes at all...really nice scopes !

Nikon Canada will not sell any tactical scopes or any scopes with mildots.

I haev two Nikon Monarch scopes, a 6x42 and a 4x12x40. They are very good, eye relief can be a bit sensitive on the 4x12, the fixed six is super bright, I was at the range almost after dark shooting reasonable groups at 200 yards last week.

I have a 6-18x40 buckmaster, a 6.5-20x40 EFR Luepold, and a 6-24x40 4200 bushnell. They are all very comparable with view and brightness. The Luepy wins for feel of quality, and I expect durability.
The buckmaster is very nice to use, but if you are shooting short range 25 yards, make sure you can focus down to those ranges, as the model I have starts at 50 yards (it can focus down to 25, but just)
