I just put a monarch 2.5-10x42 on my x-bolt last weekend. Did a side by side comparison with the bushnell 4200 2.5-10x40 and could see no big winner optics wise either way. Went with the nikon because the turret adjustments seemed crisper and the scope was $80 cheaper for basically the same package. As a side note I wanted to throw the vortex viper 2.5-10x44 into the mix but its not due for release until June.

Wanted to add that Nikon's warranty in Canada is 25 years serviced in either Toronto or Vancouver. Whichever is easier for you.

4200 are dollar for dollar the best value for quality. I don't know of any other scope brands that test's there scopes to the equivalent of 10,000 rds of 375HH recoil before they package their product.

Kev...I Just put a Burris FullfieldII 4.5-14x42mm on my T3 Varmit 250, Absolutly love it!!!
Its got the 3200 beat hands down and IMO as good or better then 4200!!
Agreed. I switched my Elite 3200 to Burris, much clearer in low light situations. My buddy has the 4200 and side by side I think my Burris clearer on the outside edge of the lens, and is less expensive also.
Just got a used Nikon Buckmaster off of the EE a month ago or thereabouts. Seems like decent glass, though I have only used it twice so far.
Have used Bushnell 3200 and Leupold VX-II in the past. The Bushnell 3200 is the cheapest I would go with optics, (got my last 3-9x40 on sale for under $200 before taxes).
Leupold has great warranty but that service doesnt come out of pixie dust. The initial purchase price here in Canada for Leupold products is a fair bit higher than other brands of equal optical quality. If you check the EE you can perhaps find a used Leupold but personally I would never buy a new one due to the inflated price they need to have in order to cover their legendary warranty.
Keep Vortex, Falcon Menace and some other newcomers to the market in mind.
You may be pleasantly surprised to find what some people dismissed as garbage a few years back is now very competitive gear.

I have several nikons, and my buckmaster 6-18x40sf is by FAR better than the 4200 it is not even close. Nikon is superior to bushnell in each price category that I have tried. Clearer, better eye relief, and nicer controls as well.

Another brand that may be worth consideration is Minox. I don't have a Minox scope, but have a pair of their binos, and a spotting scope. Both have very good optics. It seems to me I saw a short while ago that there is a Canadian Minox dealer on this site.
