NITRO PISTON whats the best buy

I like my Benjamin Trail NP. Nice and quiet. But I got mine from Canadian Tire so it shoots under 500 fps. I have tried to get an upgraded nitro spring from Crosman, but you have to deal with Gravel Agency if you live in Canada. I believe they are located in quebec and were not inclined to send me a nitro spring that would put it up over 500 fps even though it was after the long gun registry was scraped and I even offered to provide my PAL, but they would not ship me one.

cheers,
corey

I didn't confirm, but I think DLairgun and ScopesandAmmo, and SSSO will sell PAL capable pistons if you have a PAL.

I like my Crossman Nitro Venom .22 (950 fps & wood stock). I bought it from DL....accurate, powerful, pretty quiet , and feels good. I am using Crossman Premier Hollowpoints after trying 5 or 6 diffferent pellets, they shot the best. You may want to upgrade the scope at some point and I upgaded the trigger to a GRT-III which makes quite a difference.

I like the Benjamin Nitro Trail as well. I got mine in .25 cal from D&L, and it is crazy powerful! Complete pass-through on squirrels every time, even when passing through spruce boughs in front of the squirrel. Super quiet, too! I also find the accuracy great, though not target gun accurate, of course.

I'll echo what a couple others have already said...Benjamin Nitro Piston. I have the XL Trail in .22, and it fires cleanly through 3/4" plywood. The squirrels hate it. It's freakin long though at 48" long overall length.

I have the same rifle. Get the trigger. Eric at scopes and ammo can suppy. Makes a world of difference. And even a monkey like me can install it. I did the upgrade to the full power piston. To be true full it makes more sense to buy another rifle. The gas strut is under a lot if tension, and can be dangerous and difficult to remove and install with out the proper equipment.
There is a new nitro piston coming in June. A good reason for a new rifle I would think. Check out crosman's web site.

All the best

Derek
