Here are some pictures of a Norinco M14 that we did the other day(doing a few more tomorrow too). This is what the nitron process looks like on carbon steel.It makes this Norc a look like a springfield armoury now. The NITRON Finish is perfect for the M14 series of rifles, giving them an authentic Springfield look but with more durability with the NITRON finish. Can this finish also be applied to USGI m14 parts with similar results.... Tell ya what, I'll p.m you tomorrow and send in a full set of parts ;) can't wait to see how this will turn out.

This is a nitride bath process that we do in house. It works on carbon and stainless so if you have any builds with stainless gas blocks the finish will be uniform and match perfectly. We can also go semi-gloss and full gloss as well.We offer Pricing for parts and complete guns with disassembly and reassembly you can choose which option suits you best.(disassembled is faster turn around time and cheaper) I will post pricing in our forum as well if you have any questions or need quotes please just email me and I can get you a specific quote.

We can Nitron all USGI parts, whether they are stainless steel or carbon. They will have a perfect Jet Black finish guaranteed. In the past M1 Garands and M14 gas block could not be perfectly matched when we would do them, now with our new Nitron process it makes all the steel parts match like a factory build. I just have to say that ive dealt with Arma-coat in the past as well and these guys are absolutely one of the best company's ive ever dealt with in my ''firearms career" lol

That is the next process is to start doing large amounts on 858 in Nitron as after they have been welded they rarely turned out nice parkerized. As for rauch I do not know what they really did. Our NITRON finish is in house and if I remember they sent their stuff out.
 
Stainless steel? Very interesting. I have two 1911 SS that might need work. Can you do exterior only or does the whole part get dunked? I was thinking to have just the exterior black but leave the internals SS. Is that possible?

It is possible to remove the markings if they are not too deep, but I recommend sanding, dremeling,machining it down yourself, then sending it in for finishing. With the Nitron finish in a matte state you hardly notice the markings after.

Sorry the interiors of the receiver and slide will have to be done as well as it is an immersion process and is an extremely hot bath.
 
Murdoc, how does this process compare to the usual suspects (parkerizing, bluing etc) as far as surface thickness, wear, durability and corrosion resistance? I'm very tempted to send my 858 in so I'm curious how it will hold up and if I will need to oil the finish to prevent rust.
