Here are some more pics of a S&W 629-3 that was NITRON Finished. This gun was a high gloss now a perfect matte finish. All internals and pins were done as well.I sure like it how the NITRON finish gives the pistol a more modern look. If anyone's got any ratty 586's, 686's or 29's this will make them look like they just came fresh from the Smith and wesson plant.We can also make this finish come out to a semi-gloss or full gloss as well. ....... How durable is it? Will a scratch penetrate right down to the stainless?

I'd love to see another picture after a thousand rounds or so....

Its a very tough resilient finish. Yes a deep scratch would penetrate the finish and expose the stainless. After a 1000rds it would be just fine.
