No.4 Enfield King Screw Split Washer

So my No.4 is missing the king screw split washer (trigger guard). I picked up a few 1/4" split washers from the hardware store but the OD is too wide.

There's screw/bushing/washer combos on Ebay but I'd rather not spend $30 for something so simple. Any suggestions on alternatives?

Take the washer and put it on a 1/4 in screw and tighten a nut over it so it's flat and not able to move.

Chuck up the threaded end of the screw into your ''hand drill or drill press''

Turn on the machine, take a file and trim to fit.

Takes less than five minutes and you can make it pretty with a dab of cold blue.

I tried this but against a bench grinder and it didn't work out well. Maybe that was too aggressive and the file is a better idea.

Nice job. Looks fantastic.

The drill press and hand drill, along with a file and sometimes a hacksaw are the "poor mans Lathe" It's amazing how close small tolerances can be kept with some due care.
