So here I'm starting the restore of this firearm. \The stock needs some fitting because of the trigger update from Mark 1 to Mark 2. Anyone else run into this?

I found it neat that the orginal stock was likely cut at the middle band and shaped into a sporter when it was converted.

Enjoy the video.

I have the same issue - I was told that I could find a Mk 2 stock, or you can cut it...I'm planning to try and cut it out. Need to see how the crossbolt will work and go through.

Yeah the cross bolt kind of scares me. I was talking to a knowledgeable friend and he thinks its a better idea to hold on to the stock and find a Mark 1 to convert. I think you need to take a rivet out of the stock. Who knows when I understand the process I will decide if I'll proceed. The stock is going to go up in value so not cutting it might be a good idea.

I've done both mods - a mk1 forend on a mk2 action and the reverse. Turning a mk2 forend into a mk1 is easier than the opposite.

Easiest though is to find the right forend :)

Yeah I agree its easier to get another stock. I will hold on to the stock and find a another rifle for it. I figured the Mk1 stock would work because I had a converted Mk1 to a Mk1/2 and I was WRONG :)
