No,4 Mk.1 Barrel marking....

I finally pulled the wood off of the "Regulated by Fultons" rifle. Interesting treatment....shim about 3 inches from nose cap on bottom wood...bedded receiver...trigger changed to frame mount. Barrel has a step just about three inches back from the muzzle and is marked with a large "T" on the knoxform along with the usual 2.222 and ? tons. I haven't pulled any No.4's apart before...is the step a usual thing and what does the "T" mean? Thanks, Dave

Could the step be the bayonet lugs?

Step is behind the front sight.....

The step in the barrel is about one inch behind the front sight. It is stepped down a bit so it is the same size at the nose cap as any No.4 barrel. Dave
