I need some info. I have a friend who has one which is marked "B51" on the underside of the stock. He believes this means that it is one prepared by Holland and Holland. I seem to remember that if H&H worked on it there was a stamp on the receiver.....a letter. Can someone help?

The mark should be a "S51, which was the mark by H&H.
Other marks which should be on the sniper is the TR on the left side of the wrist, the T on the left wall (if it was fitted with a telescope, although the T was not put on the early rifles), a little S on the small block where the mag cutoff pin would have been if the rifles were fitted with one, and a D6E under a crown on the left side of the receiver just below and behind the rear sight pin.
