Ok you Lee Enfield guys, where does this one fit in/made/etc.
It is full wood regulation target model of the 1950s.

What I can say before going for dinner is: made at the Fazakerley arsenal, and the sight is a Parker-Hale - nice find, if it's in your hands!

Not sure what the "PF405" stands for.

Lou

ROF Fazakerley built (April 1954) No4 Mk2. The serial number PF405??? could indicate any one of 7 different contracts that Faz completed in that range. Though if it falls in PF405813 thru to 848, it was built for GE Fulton of Bisley, for competition.

Thanks fellows, and enfielder, it is unfortunately, not in your serial number range. The last three numbers are between 400 and 500. Let me know if a smaller range would help.
It is mine, been in the family since competitive shooting in the later 50s. Not enough through the barrel though, to see any errosion.

To make it simple, here is the break down of the 400-500 serial range.

PF405393 - PF405412 St. Vincent (Caribbean) circa 1954
PF405413 - PF405512 Stock Production
PF405513 - PF405712 Admiralty

Merry Christmas,

Jay

Mine has that sight and a funny MP stamped on the reciever.
Something like RCMP Regina Rifle and Key Club on the sling.
Now will somebody explain why the word "key" is there?
