No.5 Mk 1 Flash hider

I've undertaken bringing a couple of well worn Jungle Carbines back to their original glory (or at least something close)
Anyone have experience in removing the flash hider off a No.5?
I thought I better ask before I drag out the 36" pipe wrenches and dive in head first.:D
 
The pins are tapered, drive them out first (heat? penetrant?), then put the barreled action in a hydraulic press and using a piece of steel rod just small enough to fit through the FH, press the barrel and action out of the FH.

They are truly a ##### to remove. Made sure you drive the pins out in the right direction if there is one...:eek:
