No Daniel Defense for me.

Finally found out today after quite a few months that the US export permit was denied for the Daniel Defense products.

It was quite a large order and it was approved by Canadian authorities.

This is strictly a US State dept. issue.

Man that sucks!! I was hoping to get my hands on one of them... We can't get anything good up here now.

Apples and Oranges, really. Completely different mounting systems. LaRue is more like Daniel Defense than Troy. I've had Troy, though, and it certainly is a very nice affordable alternative to Daniel or LaRue.

I actually like the Troy rail system better, since it is continuour and will match-up with your flat top upper's rail. The LaRue & DD, while excellent rails, don't. Just a case of personal preferences I guess.

My DD matches up to the rail on my upper, it's the light rail model I think. This is kind of pissy I wanted another one for my 16" upper.

There are 2 versions of the DD rails. Their M4 style rail is more like a Larue mounting system and their AR15 LITE style is more like a Troy setup with a continuous top rail.
