No deer, but a few coyotes

Deer populations got hammered last winter in NE Alberta so I haven't seen many, but I did see coyotes. Took two at 250 yards and one at 70, both with a Ruger American in .308. Where I hunt, there's a problem with livestock predation, so the county has even put up bounties in the past. That said, this isn't even making a dent on the local coyote population.

Nicely done! And, I love the first pic where you left the sticker on the buttstock of your rifle! HE HE

Just an FYI on the deer populations here in the Ottawa area... I had does & fawns on cam before the season... Absolutely NOTHING on camera other than hunters & their dog, NO deer since then... If I see a coyote, I will do my best to take it out!

Cheers

looking good. not many deer around my area of nova scotia so I will be shooting all the coyotes I see. I wacked 1 a week ago that was out in the pasture with our beef herd.

Well done bud. Keep up the good work. Thinking to set out a bait pile this weekend with a few beaver carcasses. Haven't seen any yote tracks this year but have seen wolf sign. Set out snares in their trails but I'd really love to get one with the rifle. Developed a nice accurate load for my VZ58 in 556 and need to get out and try em out on what they were designed for. Inspired to get out and do some canine hunting of my own. Thanks for sharing your hunt.
