One week into rifle season here, and I have yet to see a deer, not to mention a buck. Five yotes came in on opening morning, only three are left.
Tika T-3 Light .308 with Nosler 150g partitions really take the piss out of the yotes though.

Coyotes were howling like crazy in my area last week. I had just shot a doe, and radioed my buddy to bring the 4 wheeler, when a whole wack of coyotes started wailing. I love hearing them howl, but there seems to just be to many around now.

Deer population is down also. When I registered my doe, they said the amount of deer shot this year compared to others, was down 33%.

I plan on shooting every COYOTE/WOLF I see this fall weather I am sitting in my stand for deer or not...screw 'em...way too many causing way too many problems.

We had the same experience this week. We managed to take 3 but we saw probably 7-10 more we couldn't get shots at.

They seem to be having a pretty good effect on the deer numbers. We are still seeing deer, but the numbers are way down.

same deal here, only got 3 deer between 10 guys. Heard coyotes every night and some mornings. My brother could of shot one everyday but he wont "afraid it will scare the deer"

waaaaay too many yotes around. We are getting a few more hounds and going full bore this winter, Almost every farm near by is giving us premission, even other deer hunters, they want them thinned out.

I was just out in Upper Tantallon and the 'yotes were going nuts! It was sunset, so I figure they are trying to find each other. Then BANG!!! I guess someone found them. They all started yelping and crying, then it got quiet. I guess who ever was about 2 KM from me on the clear cut found them. Good job who ever it was!

I wonder if he was in my stand at the top of the hill... you can see over the entire 800 meter cut.

Coyotes, coyotes, and more coyotes!!! Had 3 approach me to within 30 yards (at differnt times) this week so far.

I don't like to shoot them when I'm deer hunting with my muzzleloader...but will take them when I get back out with my Xbow.

My count so far this week 3 yotes, 1 fisher, 1 porcupine...and the North end of a South-bound deer.

fishers are horrible animals that were released by the MNR in Ontario they are not supposed to be here kill them all!.....there are ZERO rabbits and grouse left on our property due to fishers I shoot every one I see!.....they also kill our neighbors chickens so I'm protecting livestock ;)...

Here in Sask there are a pile of yotes and wolves. Reports from hunters say the moose in the bush are way down because of wolves. The only good moose hunting was from farm country where the wolves won't go. There are piles of coyotes in the area around my deers stand as well.

If Jan/Feb weather isn't too cold I think a bit of a coyote cull is in the cards for me. I have a 300 weatherby that has been collecting dust and is feeling a bit left out. Plastering a few yotes will make her feel better:D

Seems to be the same story this year. Maybe there should once again be a bounty on them to thin some out. This has been the slowest year in a long long time. We be hearing them too, every evening.
