I have an airgun which I would like to sell and I noticed that there is no EE for this. Is there a reason or a rule about this ...........

It took quite awhile for us to get an Airgun forum here at CGN. I personally brought the idea forward to RobAK, a former mod & he brought it forward to greentips. My reasoning for this forum is that ALOT of us began our shooting sports "careers" with air guns! It seemed a natural addition to the board, to me anyways...

Now, wrt an air gun EE... They can always be sold in the Exchange of All Other Stuff, like neotekz said. And, IMHO, if it's a PAL rated air gun, then it can go in the other EE forums it might fit in, after all, it IS a firearm by law!

There should be an EE for airguns; it doesn't seem right to bury
them in with the books, DVD's and computer games.

I think that an air rifle EE would be barren and empty. In my opinion, it would be best to have a bow/crossbow and air rifle exchange. That way, one wouldn't have to look through the hunting tree stands and deer calls for sale before finding a bow. At the same time, looking through the Exchange of all other stuff board to find an air rifle is also ineffective.

Two birds with one stone.

It's interesting that air guns don't get the respect they deserve.
Everything from Red Ryder BB guns at the one end, to some serious competition 10 meter AP that compete in the Olympic shooting sports at the other. Heck, some have taken deer and such, in other countries.

If that comment was made towards my post, then you have misunderstood me. I have had plenty of experience with air rifles before I got my PAL, let me say I respect them just as much as real firearms.

I think a Bow and Air Rifle Exchange would do best because:

1) Air rifles should have their own EE section, they aren't really "All other stuff"

2) Bows and Crossbows aren't "hunting and sporting equipment" as much as they are a central piece to hunting or the sport of archery.

3) The "hunting and sporting equipment" exchange should be dedicated exclusively to the accessories needed for such undertakings.

I think that, combined, the two have similar laws affecting them. Seeing as this firearms forum is not entirely dedicated to either, a single EE board for both would do best. Besides, have a board for each would mean them being fairly empty.

Sand

No, not aimed at anyone in particular buddy.....

cheers

have a look at the http://www.airgunforum.ca, its the primary source for all things air guns, and yes it has an ee especially for airguns, parts etc. I actually spend more time shooting my air rifles(most costing more than my powder burners and all PAL rated). I think this site is better focused on powder burners IMO since the world of Airgun shooting is large and specialized. They do intersect however because they are considered firearms under the law. Having said that, if its just another thread and not cost much, it would probably get used and be value to many.
my two cents..

Seing how there's one or two post a day in the airgun forum... I think a separate airgun EE would be a moot point.

Just my 2cents,

Mike
(And yes, I do shoot 4.5)

I love airsoft!!! I really want one of those mp5 clones before David Miller figures out how to get back in power and ban them too!!! So yes I am for the EE. Along with bows and other shooting devises, how could you lose?
