No firearm test required?

Thanks for the tough guy speech but I'm landlocked and don't venture out on the ocean much.

Not a tough guy speech at all, you insinuated that all forces personnel are imcompetent when it came to handling firearms.

HAHAHA!!! In my experience, the only thing CF personnel are good at regarding firearms, is their comfort in pointing them at anyone and everyone.

Then you back track later and say some. Well which is it? I think the real reason you were sweep was because of conflicting instructions as a PAL instructor.

There are over 60 thousand including reserves in the forces. Yes some are thuds when it comes to firearms. Hell I was sweeped by a female officer once. I didn't tell the world that all female officers are inapt. I gave her s**t and moved on. I see you are in Alberta, were the members reg or reserve? Combat arms or office workers? Be specific please. So TDC if you are going to generalize about an organization, be prepared to be flamed.

Unless you're at the bar, then you guys engage yourselves in stupid activity and look like retards, especially to the ladies

Riiiiight.... Lots of suburban "thug life" douchebags in the bars too...

Dont be hating just because the ladies tend to enjoy someone else's company and leave you all alone in the corner... sniff.

-or-

Perhaps if you see some of those guys in the bar, you should be a gentleman and inform them that they are ruining everybody's good time; you and your ladies included.

Anyways, I think the question in the OP was answered a long time ago.

I admit, my initial post does read as a blanket statement. That was not the intention. I agree that there will always be those who project a less than stellar image of the organization of which they belong. However, of the folks I've observed, watched, and trained with firearms. A greater number of CF personnel were very comfortable with sweeping others with firearms compared average joe. Some were reg force(some with experience overseas) a lot of reservists and even some foreign military personnel. The CF personnel that I taught the PAL course to were all combat arms. As a side note, a buddy of mine joined the reserves(some years ago) and fired a grand total of 46 rounds in a little over a year. With pathetic numbers like that it shouldn't really surprise me that their(CF reservists) handling skills are less than stellar.
