No License, no gun, can I go....

I dont give a rat's ass what the regs say here in Ontario. If I want to take my NON-HUNTING wife or friend along for a walk in the bush she will be coming. I'll make her wear blaze orange for her own safety. If any CO tries to give me a hard time over it I'll tell him to kiss my ass too. The "forest" is not only for hunters whether we like it or not...

And when they take the truck you drove there in and your nice gun, they will be telling you to kiss their ass

rules are rules

Holy frig. You guys need to learn the difference between the "spirit" of the law and the "letter" of the law.

The law was written that way to prevent a hunter from bringing 5 buddies to push the bush for him....not to prevent junior from going with dad...give your heads a shake.

Do you truly believe that any CO in Ontario would charge me for bringing my 10 year old out on a hunt? And if one was a total #### and did, do you really believe any judge wouldn't throw it out?

Seriously people. You all must be totally convinced that"the man" is out to get you personally.

seems to be about as stupid as charging a cameraman with "fishing without a license" on one of those fishing shows- a cameraman/observer is exactly that, and as long as there's no gun in his hands, i don't see how, etc-

i do remember somewhere in my hunting course that said you could bring a juvinile along with you hunting if they arent old enough to get a hunting licence or PAL. but if stopped by a mnr they have to have proof of age.

seems to be lots of yes and no answers. and calling the mnr isnt always going to get you a correct answer.

my dad called last year about bow season deer. they said you must ALWAYS wear blaze when other firearms animals are in season. the mnr said since small game are year round, you must always wear blaze.
so it takes a bit of time to get through the "lvl 1 techs" on the phone and find someone that knows wtf they are talking about.

I was told that as long they are not involved in the hunt, ie. "pushing the bush, calling ducks, or shooting", non-hunters can come along. How else are you supposed to get people involved in hunting if they haven't experienced it before!? Nobody wants to spend hundreds/thousands of dollars on a hunter safety course, firearms course and equipment only to find out maybe it isn't for them.
