I love my Henry pump. A little slower to reload, but the feel and the sound of the schk-schk after every shot makes me grin :D .

.22LR in a .22 Long marked Browning Trombone shouldn't hurt anything. They have the same case, but .22LR is typically loaded with heavier bullets. Some .22 Long barrels have slow rifling that won't stabilize LRs, though.
 
Remington 572 Fieldmaster was my first real gun when I was a kid and now my kids are learning to shoot on it. I also use it when working with new shooters on the 870 shotguns.

To keep up with the 'tactical' craze Remington should come out with a model to match their 7615 that uses 597 mags.....yes I am half serious ;)

I love my old Remington Model 12A :cool: (not octagonal in the barrel :redface: , but still plenty fun! :) ) - it's dual-dated for 1910 and 1911 :p , and some pics of my friends shooting it :yingyang: :

(I'm glad to say that it worked flawlessly for a firearm plenty older than myself) :D :

pump 22s

I have an Iverjohnson pump 22 made in Germany by Erma and I;ll never part with it . the Henry rifle looks the same but I;ll bet it's nowhere near the quality of the Erma. keep looking for a pump if you want one . I have seen Winchester pump 22s selling lately that are close to mint.

one of the things I like about the pump is it has a tube mag. good luck in your hunt for a 22.

That's an 1890 lower, and a 1906 upper. It works well with the Taurus sight offered a few years back...

Yes, it is a Marlin. It's a model No. 20. I haven't been able to pin down the exact variation- Brophy is as clear as mud on this. There are few company records for this series- there had been a fire at Marlin, and the company changed hands several times before the McKenna's stepped in. Butt-stock and frame are 4 digit serialized. Smarter minds than mine place manufacture between 1916-1920.

The guy who sold it to me said the gun had been re-finished at the Winchester Canada (old cooey) plant, and had been owned by a management type there. No provenance, but still, an interesting history. The bore was in terrible shape- un-shootable. I had the bore re-lined.

The scope is actually a japanese Tasco. It is 4X20mm. It dates from the Sharps repro craze of the mid to late 70's. The lenses are coated. It's a surprisingly bright and clear scope, for all that 18" length. Keep an eye out on flea-pay and the gun auction sites. They do turn up from time to time. IIRC, I bought mine here, off the equipment exchange, a long time ago.
