No more custom finish jobs for Baby Eagles?

Anyone else hear that Magnum Research has ended their contract with IWI. Now IWI is only offering them in blued and chrome. Had one in gold(already have one in hard chrome) ordered since December 08 and was called by gunshop today saying no go What a piss off, I have had wood grips from Hogue for two months waiting for the "March" arrival of this pistol and now no gun. I will keep shop name out of this thread since it is not their fault. Goddamn it I wanted one!

They are all metal, they have not made polymer pistols.

You are correct, Desert Eagle II.

ya they make baby eagles with plastic frames now,, also the new metal frames have rails too.. i preffer the original with no rail, there are a few places in canada you can have custom finishes on , i know WolFF has looked into this, he should chime in .

Yeah, I noticed tat as well. I also prefer the older design. I guess the addition of the rail is a nod towards getting them into LE/military holsters.

I also know that the action isn't related to the Desert Eagle. How are they for reliability?

hey thad, i personally havent had anything done yet, i have a few things i do want refinished just waiting till other projects are finished and $. ive heard really good things about "dark international" give them a whirl, pm me if you need a link.

Frontier has a Titanium Gold Baby Eagle 2 9mm in stock, I'm tempted to buy it because its so purdy but I want to buy a black rifle next so you can have it.

Gunnar is usually pretty fast with responding to email but he hasn't responded to the email I sent him late last week not sure what the deal it...
