Whoa! They closed my account and are withholding funds on deposit!!

Here is what my login page says!

"Why is my account access limited?

Your account access has been limited for the following reason(s):

# May 2, 2006: In accordance with (FRAUD ALERT)'s User Agreement and Acceptable Use Policy, we have closed your account. Your funds may be held for 180 days from the date of your last transaction. After 180 days, you will be able to access your funds by requesting an online bank transfer or, if applicable, a check from (FRAUD ALERT). Please update your address or bank information as we cannot be held responsible for checks issued to an incorrect address. We do ask that you please remove reference(s) to (FRAUD ALERT) from your site.

Holy Crap!

I sold my Walther P22 to someone from this site, he deposited the funds, I called it in to CFC, he told me he completed it and I'm waiting for him to contact me with the TN or receive one from the CFC myself. This is the first time I have used (FRAUD ALERT) and he requested this form of payment because he wanted to use a credit card. Wow. FYI guys. Beware of (FRAUD ALERT). I had no idea I couldn't use it.

Then don't put a firearm as a description when you are selling.

Put a ref. number instead.

So when you list your firearms on this site ex:

Glock 17 for sale blah blah blah
PP-ref: 19283

Colt 1911 for sale
PP-ref: 19299

So when you pay someone via pay-pal don't say "Colt 1911 HANDGUN" in the description simply say
RE: PP-ref:19299

If my suggestion is against site rules, PM me and i'll delete it.

Clean up (FRAUD ALERT) accounts immediately after every transaction, do not wait till you have over 150 bucks. They are antis and fascists!
And never verify your bank account - once you've done that, you've entitled them to go there to collect any amount that they see fit. I never verified my chequing account and they f__ked off with their 'reminders to verify' after a while.

My business account can't EMT. My personal account can't either as it is a Credit Union. Someone can take my account info and go into a CIBC and make a deposit though.... Maybe that's the way.

Funny thing is I can't get a hold of the buyer and the transfer was initiated by me on April 25th. He emailed me next day and said he called in to complete. I told him to tell them to fax it so it was faster but I have not received anything by mail or fax. Wierd. Guy goes by Tyrant. Anyone know him??

I checked and their are no requests for reversals or disputes filed on (FRAUD ALERT) so that can't be it...

I've heard so much nevative stuff about (FRAUD ALERT), I wouldn't deal with them myself... there are other ways - maybe not as convenient, but you get what you pay for.

I closed my (FRAUD ALERT) account a few months back after reading details of one gun related company's experience with them. I will probably close my eBay account rather than ever use it again, as well, as a matter of principle. Sure you can use (FRAUD ALERT) for non-gun related stuff without difficulty, or even for gun stuff if you're discrete, but do you really want to support a company with this attitude towards firearms???

I hear you about dealing with a company having rabid anti-gun policies. It sucks, but is sure is fun to use their service over and over again for "Sporting Goods".

Like someone else said, "As long as you are discrete, (FRAUD ALERT) will never know."

Cheers,
Barney

NOthing but trouble from (FRAUD ALERT). I have a run in with them last month, I didn't get goods, and goods I shipped to a buyer (that he recieved).

I have $40 in there and when it's gone it's money orders for me. F#@$ em.

Just closed my account... will set up EMT with my bank. They sucked up 3% of every transaction for NOTHING and the terms of service is pretty scary once you do read them.

I got a email from ebay warning me about not continuing a transaction of buying a scopecoat for my eotech. Too bad they sent the email about 2 weeks after the scopecoat arrived.

Strange, I bought lots of things: slings, scope, bayo, muzzle brake, cleaning rod, parts etc and paid for everything via (FRAUD ALERT) - no problem. They must have particular hatred of handgun related stuff.

Certapay is best because it is actually collectivly owned and run by the banks themselves. All business all the time.

Agreed...but alot of folks deal with Credit Unions, making the EMT thing with Certapay a bit more difficult...I recieved a transfer from a fellow BC'r using hyperwallet, same thing as EMT...I wasn't sure exactly what it was,but he said this is what he was told to use from his credit union..it worked:D
