No more US made AR's or parts

The relevant document is this: https://www.pmdtc.org/docs/oas.pdf

Which says:

Fully Automatic Weapons - Submit a DSP-83. The appropriate end-user
for these items should be the military or police. No commercial sales.
NOTE: Licenses for automatic weapons will only be approved when the
end-user is the military or police.

Yes, I know an SBR is not a fully-automatic weapon, but in my experience they tend to chuck everything covered under the National Firearms Act under that moniker, so no, you can't get an export license, theoretically. I have heard a tale from an importer here that you can get around it by putting down an application for: "5.56mm calibre pistol barrels", because after all, you might be making an AR-15 pistol, and that's not an NFA weapon. You can presumably pull the same trick by putting down for barrelled uppers.

The only slight snag is that AR-15 pistols are banned here, and I think they're banned in Canada, aren't they? So you have to be careful with Customs on the receiving end.

As for Oberland Arms, they make nice guns, but they're very expensive for what they are.

This is quite an interesting read also: https://www.pmdtc.org/docs/rpt655_2004.pdf

If you have a look at page 29, it says that last year, 331 AR-15s were exported from the US into Canada. At an average price of US$1,085 each, no less.

The last page is quite interesting as well, it indicates that 140 guns banned under the 1994 AW ban in the US were exported to Canada in 2004.
