This is the first time I have posted any profile on these gun message boards, but here goes. Rifle is my favorite firearm. Long distance things (600-1000 meters/yards) is great. Also do alot of practical rifle (sort of like assault rifle) , and tactical sniper type matches. I don't hunt as much as I used to.
Practical type 3-gun matches are my favorite matches. I used to teach law enforcement officers both rifle, pistol and shotgun, but stopped doing that about two or three years ago. I do a lot of reloading so that I can do more shooting, but don't reload for 9mm.
Most of my reloading is 308 winchester, 300 Win Mag, 223 Remington/5.56, 45acp, 6.5x55, 303 British, and a few other odds and ends. The most helpful thing I have discovered in the last few years to help accuracy is measuring the runout of loaded rounds. Anything with .0015 or less runout gives really good accuracy.
To that end (less runout) I have found that the Redding competition seating die is the neatest thing since sliced bread. None of the other brands dies give me this good of ammo. The Redding die gives between 91-92% loads with .0015 inch runout or less.
I guess that is enough about me. I hope it wasn't too much info.
